One Tree Planted

"Started in 2014, we have more than doubled the number of trees planted year over year. Fast-forward to today, we now work with awesome reforestations partners in North America, South America, Asia, and Africa who help us get trees in the ground to restore forests after fires and floods, create jobs, build communities, and protect habitat for biodiversity."

Global Giving

"Hundreds of wildfires are burning across California, destroying homes, forcing mass evacuations, and polluting the air. This fund will support firefighters and get emergency supplies like food, water, and medicine to people in need. The fund will remain open to provide long-term assistance. As the location and severity of the fires fluctuates, so will our response to ensure aid gets where it is most needed. All donations to this fund will exclusively support communities impacted by wildfires.

California is battling wildfires at a historic scale this season. A heat wave and lightning sparked the second-largest fire in the state's history in late August 2020, with hundreds of smaller fires burning across multiple counties. Homes have been destroyed and more than 100,000 residents are displaced. The COVID-19 pandemic is an added challenge for first responders and residents, with the threat of infection remaining high, particularly in shelters where social distancing is challenging."

California Community Foundation

The California Community Foundation’s Wildfire Relief Fund supports immediate, mid- and long-term recovery efforts for major California wildfires, as well as support for animals affected by wildfires. Since the Wildfire Relief Fund opened in 2003, we have granted more than $24 million to support relief and recovery efforts in the aftermath of devastating California wildfires. Grants for the Wildfire Relief Fund have supported those who were displaced or lost housing, belongings and/or employment, or suffered physical or mental health problems; helped to rebuild homes; provided case management services, basic needs assistance, mental health services and financial assistance; upgraded 2-1-1 phone and information system; assisted California wildfire victims with follow-up medical care and supplies; and provided firefighters with updated safety equipment.
